Degree Requirements

Completion of the requirements described here lead to the bachelor of arts degree from Weinberg College.

Learn how requirements work together to create a well-rounded education.

The set of requirements ensure students acquire important skills and gain a breadth of knowledge spanning multiple disciplines while also getting depth of understanding through intensive study within one area (a major). Some courses may overlap and count for multiple requirements.

Breadth Requirements

Students complete two courses in each of 6 intellectual areas to ensure a well rounded education.

Major Courses

Depending on what major you choose, about one third to one half of your courses for your degree will be in your major.

Additional Required Courses

Additional requirements ensure students demonstrate competencies in general skills such as writing and languages.

Courses of Your Choice

You can use these courses to explore your interests, pursue a minor, or prepare yourself for a future career.
